There’s a lot to be said about wine. Much like single-malt scotch, wine is not just the drinking, but the culture around it. This is specially true for fine wines. But even $20 dollar bottles of wine still deserve the respect the effort and care it took to get from the vine to the glass.
Wine itself is something you would want to enjoy. Whatever state it were in, wine should still be stored and served at the right temperature. If you think you have an inferior quality wine, treat it as such and you’ll get a more inferior quality wine.
Wine bottles should be stored on the their side and not upright. The bottles should also be kept at an even and constant temperature. And depending on the wine, it can be served at room temperature, cold or chilled. Owning a small cache of wines, wine bottle coolers are a big help in keeping these properly stored and at their best quality, at the right temperature, and ready to drink when company arrives.
